Since we call our chickens the girls we don't call our bees the girls the way other bee keepers call them. We call them the bee girls, or the bee gees. This is a closeup shot of the swarm looking for their new home. We collected them and now they're in our yard doing their thing.
Our friend, Mike, from the Treasure Valley Beekeeper Club came over with this bucket on a pole. He put the bucket up to the swarm, pushed and shook the bees off of the branch so that they went into the bucket.
Then he put them into the box... Well, most of them went into the box. After a little while most of them figured out what was going on and went into the box with their bee buddies.
Mike was really good showing the family whose yard the swarm was in and they were really curious and asked a lot of questions that Mike loved answering for them. THANKS FOR YOUR HELP WITH THIS, MIKE!
